Our counselling services
One of the main missions of the Patiente Vertriedung Asbl is to inform patients about their rights but also their obligations.
It is important that the patient knows his rights and that he engages himself in the procedure of gaining his rights. Our goal is to tell the patient what his rights are and help him to have them respected.
Our team is at your disposal to provide with further information in the domain of health, social security and everything that concerns administrations in the health area.
What we do:
- We'll review your situation with you and consider your next steps
- We'll guide you through our healthcare system and help you find the right points of contact
- We explain how to recognise the right information on health topics and where to find it
- We support you in your decision-making process. We will work with you to prepare for your next visit to the doctor, so that you can clarify your questions in a targeted manner, or we will discuss the next stage of the procedure with you
- We explain medical and legal terms to you
- We explain your rights as a patient
- We draw the attention of politicians and the public to problems in our healthcare system that are highlighted in our advice. Through your questions, you can help to improve our healthcare system.
- We help you write your letters (e.g. to your doctor, hospital, health insurance, etc.)
- We can help you check your medical bills
What we don't do:
- We do not recommend any doctor, hospital, law firm or other establishment
- We do not judge whether certain treatments or examinations are suitable for you. We do not give second opinions
- We do not have (specialist) medical information on all subjects and are not experts in specialist medical issues
- We do not make diagnoses
- We do not arrange doctors' appointments on your behalf
- We cannot legally represent you in court or before the Social Securits Arbitration Tribunal (CASS)
