The medical site med.lod.lu is now online

In order to encourage a better communication in the domain of health in our multilingual society, the team of the Lëtzebuerger Online Dictionnaire created med.lod.lu. This specific site features medical expressions with example sentences in Luxembourgish and translations into French, German, English and Portuguese. The expressions can be looked up in all five languages. med.lod.lu is thus aimed at patients and professionals alike and enables both sides to use the LOD to make themselves better understood.

Guy Arendt, State Secretary for Culture, highlights that the initiative falls in line with efforts of the government to promote the Luxembourgish language. “I am convinced that this site will make all our lives easier. Times of illness are unsettling and people will appreciate a tool that enables them to find the needed expression in a quick and uncomplicated way.”
